The Shami goat is native to the Middle East, where it has for centuries provided milk, meat, hair, and fine leather to shepherds and agricultural families. With the proper care, our Shami goats produce high quantities of milk, rich in protein and fat. Goats’ dairy is lighter than cow’s dairy and easier to digest by infants, elderly, and others with strict dietary needs. Goats’ dairy contains double the fats quantity. Goats’ dairy contains more saturated fatty acids, which help absorbing lactose, and it contains 3 times the protein serum. Shami goat milk is an important ingredient in traditional foods such as labneh, laban, yogurt, and fresh cheeses.
